Tuition and Expenses
The tuition to attend a session is $525, which pays for your room and board, supplies and equipment including uniform shirts and shorts. For accepted students to enroll and pay for AIM, please access the AIM acceptance letter in your Bears Den account and select the “Application” link, then view the AIM decision. Follow the instructions on the AIM decision letter to complete your AIM enrollment and payment. Plan to bring $25-$50 if you want extra snacks or souvenirs.
June 1: Tuition payment deadline
Payment is made online. A link will be provided when accepted. Please access your AIM registration and payment form through your AIM acceptance letter.
With the exception of scholarship recipients, each student is responsible for arranging transportation to and from the Coast Guard Academy. Those flying commercially should arrive in Providence, Rhode Island (T.F. Green Airport, PVD) or Hartford, Connecticut (Bradley International Airport, BDL). Buses and Academy staff will be on hand to get you to the Academy and back to the airport.
Ferry and train service to New London are available. A short taxi ride from the downtown transportation terminal costs about $10. Taxis generally wait outside of the terminal.
Friends and family are invited to return on Family Day (graduation) and should plan on these travel expenses.
The Academy wants to ensure that cost is not an obstacle for any student chosen to attend AIM. Students with demonstrated financial need may receive a scholarship for tuition, travel, or both.
To apply for a scholarship, fill out and return the scholarship application located in “Forms and Downloads.”

Full refunds are available through June 6th. Full refunds after this date, or partial refunds, discounts and deferrals are not available. Please contact Admissions before June 6th if concerns arise.
