ABOUT ALEX

My name is Alex Kearney and I am from a small town located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. I grew up with my mom, dad, brother, and cat enjoying life to the fullest. I like to run, swim, hike, and play music. I was always curious in every subject, which made it extremely difficult to have a dream of what I wanted to be when I grew up. My dad was in the Navy and my brother graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in the Class of 2015. I never intended to follow in my brother’s footsteps, but I realized that the Academy was just right for me.

I run cross country, indoor and outdoor track as well as being a part of the Regimental Band. Being a cadet at the Coast Guard Academy is challenging, but the days are filled with activity and gaining knowledge. Everyone here is working toward the same goal of being a commissioned officer in our own unique way. We all have a story to tell, and this is my journey.

If you have any questions at all about the Academy, please send me an email at Alexander.L.Kearney@uscga.edu and I will gladly answer you back!
