Hey y'all! I write Jordan-Elizabeth Boyd on my papers, but I answer to Jordan in real life. I'm from the great city of Atlanta, Georgia, and my biggest fear to date is Connecticut winters. (I've never seen one before, but I heard they can be brutal.) I have a special place in my heart for food, everything about the 80's (yes, especially the big hair!), and sports, particularly basketball and track and field. While these things come very close to topping my "Things I Refuse to Live Without" list, music, my family and Jesus are my top three. That being said, I participate actively in the Glee Club and sing on the Praise Team for the Chapel. My family got a little bit bigger since swearing in on R-Day, but I am more than okay with that. Family is the reason I joined the Coast Guard to begin with, and when it is hard to get out of bed in the morning, family is the thing that keeps me going. That, and writing of course. In addition to this blog, I write poetry and short stories. I wrote a novel in high school, and I plan to finish my second by the time I graduate in 2020.
If you're interested in Academy life (or have questions about my afro), feel free to shoot me an email. CGA is a stomping ground for the diverse, and it thrives on the different strengths, passions and talents of the members of the corps. The fact that I am here (and loving it) is proof enough of that. Don't believe me? Come for a visit! We can show you a lot better than we can tell you!
Go Bears :)
