In a focused effort to develop leaders of character on board the Academy, the Superintendent has chartered a lecture series that provides a broad spectrum of leadership discussion topics. The lecture series is required for all cadets and officer candidates. All members of the Academy community are invited and encouraged to attend as well. Normally only one event will take place each month bringing the Corps of Cadets a diverse perspective on leadership from the military, business and academic worlds. The Admiral James M. Loy Institute for Leadership co-sponsors the events with responsible parties around the Academy being designated to assist with planning, logistics and potential funding. Speakers are nominated by staff and cadets alike and are selected by the Institute staff and the Superintendent’s Senior Leadership Team.
